馆内设有“历史之舟”“奥运之光”“活力之城”“未来之窗”四个展厅，共展出珍贵藏品2000 余件，生动地展现了上海体育的历史和发展历程。本书甄选了119 套375件博物馆藏品，向公众讲述上海体育的历史文化和藏品背后鲜为人知的故事，是研究上海体育史中不可或缺的文化印记。让更多的人了解上海体育，感受上海体育独有的魅力，为上海建设全球著名体育城市增添动力。
